Major Problems For The New York Yankees

The New York Yankees need a major overhaul from top to bottom. Yankees pitching coach Ron Guidry should not be there. Neither should Brian Cashman. Joe Torre fits this team and any team for that matter. Yankees pitching is the worst I’ve seen in years. With all the money spent on payroll the staff still can’t complete a game. The bullpen is pathetic. This years team has the hitting to become a contender but that’s where the puck stops.

Right now the cheapets seats you can find are roughly fifty dollars and that’s for a devil rays game. I am not paying to see a team knowing that they have no control on winning. There is absolutely no confidence displayed on the field at all. People tell me the only reason they go to the games is because they want to see the groundscrew do the ymca dance. That’s how terribble the yankee games have been. Brian Cashman should go immediately. As a general manage if you can’t motivate a team you should not be in the job.

The payroll is through the roof. Imagine pitching for the yankees, going three innings and being pulled every other start and making four million dollars per year? You and me could do just as good as some of the starts I’ve seen this year. Personally I think contracts should read if you can’t go beyond a certain inning you don’t get paid. If you do well you should be compensated for it. If you do bad you still get paid but not as much just like the real world. Take away some of the perks. Playing in New York is what every boy plays for. To get there and just collect the checks is pathetic. Lately the yankees are going in the wrong direction and leadership is not there from the front office down to the field. It’s about time to change things up. Now is the time not at the end of the season.

Is steinbrenner wrong to complain? With a payroll that is astronomical and the players not producing you can’t blame him. I know this much I am not paying for another Yankee ticket until a change is made. I will not let these players just collect checks and play horribly every week. Why should I pay for a dismal performance? I can sit home and watch ballgames for free. The whole point of going to a baseball game is to enjoy the performance of professionals. These guys aren’t playing like pros at all. The Yankees need a change now.
