Impact Rookies - Defense
Posted on 19th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports
Which rookies will have the biggest impact on the field in 2007? The Football Fanatics gives you the answers right here. This is our prediction for the top six (everybody does top five so I wanted to be different) defensive rookies who will have the greatest impact this upcoming season.
1. Patrick Willis, LB, San Francisco 49ers: Willis has a chance to become the fifth consecutive linebacker to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. The former Ole Miss standout is a team leader on and off the field. He can play inside or out and is very athletic and strong. Is solid against the run and pass. He’s a hard worker who will play hurt. Everything you want in a linebacker. Has Hall of Fame potential.
Giants Win In Motown - Let Lions Stick Around

This was one of those victories that you can chalk up as ugly. The Giants prevailed in the game 16 - 10, however the offense gave the Lions way too many chances, and in a big game against a good team (like we saw a week ago against the Cowboys), the better teams will take advantage of those mistakes and make you pay.
Twice, deep in Lions territory with the Giants ready to strike for some points, the offense put the ball on the ground, giving the Lions explosive offense a chance to get right back into it. Mistakes, that fortunately for Big Blue, did not hurt them.

THE GO-TO GUY
The new coach at Colorado told the talented blue-chipper from Thornton not to leave his native state and play for Nebraska. “You won’t get to play, Bill McCartney told me,” said Rod Smith, “but I was going to Nebraska because they kept their word to me.”
The talented all-around player who returned twelve punts for touchdowns in high school, packed his stuff into a pickup and a trailer and he and his buddy Marc Munford headed for Lincoln. “The Colorado papers called us turncoats.”
