Laos, a predominantly Buddhist country, has been a new Socialist Republic since 1975. Laos, best known as Lao People`s Democratic Republic, is a country of ancient culture, history, traditions and beautiful historic buildings. Its fertile fields and tropical forest cover an area bigger than Utah and Florida. But the sport has not grown in popularity.Certainly, the olympic sport in Laos is a chaos. There are not stadiums, sportswomen, pool swimming and sporting projects.

Couture Survives H2o Bomb Attack!

Posted on 29th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports

Imagine a bunch of people sitting around a room trying to figure out why a high-caliber athlete, that’s scheduled to compete in a heavy-weight championship fight, would climb back into the ring after two prior losses where both occurred by knockout to the same champion. Imagine this room of people that had never seen this man train, knew how strong the man’s desire was to be a champion again, and was willing to be labeled a “has-been” and “washed up” to achieve his goal. Imagine that room full of people, not even taking into consideration the motivation that it must’ve taken to get pumped up for one more fight to a man that had done enough in his sport that he was already considered a legend. Imagine that room of people just ignoring the character of that man and coming to the conclusion that he couldn’t win the fight because of the H2O (He’s Too Old!) Bomb!

Finding Your Fear - Why We Do Extreme Sports

Posted on 26th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports

Fear. The constant companion of extreme sports.

I’ve had many years to consider my fear as I’ve hung above the planet on a set of thin strings, paragliding. I’ve watched many students come to terms with it. And yet my familiarity with fear has not bred complacency. Too many of my friends have paid the price for that mistake.

Fear can ruin any sport, but fear can not be ignored. Can it be transcended?

Accessorizing Your Pool Table

Whether you are a bar owner with a room set up for pool or a home owner designing your rec room or basement table area, creating the right ambiance and having the right accessories is key to the whole pool playing experience. Having a pool table at all is fantastic, but playing is much more fun when it has that pool hall feel. It’s also easier to get games of nine ball, eight ball, cut throat and others going if you have the right tools for playing and keeping score.

Keeping Your Cue In Competition Shape From Day One

If you want to play pool like the pros, you have to take care of your equipment like the pros. You’ve seen how careful players like Alison Fisher and Earl Strickland are with their cues. You need to give your cue the same respect. If you treat your cue well, it will treat you well for many years. A well maintained cue will help keep you at the top of your game.

Impact Rookies - Defense

Posted on 19th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports

Which rookies will have the biggest impact on the field in 2007? The Football Fanatics gives you the answers right here. This is our prediction for the top six (everybody does top five so I wanted to be different) defensive rookies who will have the greatest impact this upcoming season.

1. Patrick Willis, LB, San Francisco 49ers: Willis has a chance to become the fifth consecutive linebacker to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. The former Ole Miss standout is a team leader on and off the field. He can play inside or out and is very athletic and strong. Is solid against the run and pass. He’s a hard worker who will play hurt. Everything you want in a linebacker. Has Hall of Fame potential.

Players of all Skill Levels are Welcome

By the time they reach middle school, some kids are beginning to get serious about their team sports, especially volleyball. However in order to incorporate players of all skill levels, try selecting drills that place their emphasis on fun and teamwork instead of rewarding the skilled and punishing or humiliating those players with less-developed skill sets. The following middle school volleyball drills are an excellent way for players of all skill levels to improve and work together towards helping others progress as well.

Soccer Game Plan - The Objectives Every Youth Soccer Coach Should Have In Common

Posted on 13th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports

Depending on the competitiveness of your league, the objectives of your gameday plan will vary. Some coaches may be “coaching to win,” while others are simply trying to make sure each player gets an equal amount of playing time.

Regardless of your situation, I have a few pieces of coaching advice that any volunteer youth soccer coach can benefit from.

Your general practice plan, that is the broader objectives of what you are trying to do at practice, should be rooted in developing the kids on your team into better individual and team players. You make them better individually by improving their ball skills mostly. Work on trapping, dribbling and passing and your players should become more comfortable with the ball.

Wheelchair Sports - Why Not Wheelchair Basketball?

Posted on 7th | Posted by admin in Recreation and Sports

Too few people with disabilities get involved with sporting activities. Many despair at their apparent disadvantage and end up overlooking the physical therapy and even psychological advantages offered by playing sports. Wheelchair basketball is one option available to those with a disability, helping with their self confidence and providing opportunities to socialize with others. One little know fact is that wheelchair basketball is played at an international level of competition.

After the second world war, many US servicemen were confined to a wheelchair, and wheelchair basketball was born. In 1946, these veterans played their first game, eventually growing to become one of the most popular sports in the world.
